Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy spent seven seasons at Stocksbridge Park Steels, making his first-team debut in 2006. He moved to AFC Halifax at the end of the 2009/2010 season followed by a further move into the football conference with Fleetwood Town. Vardy won promotion with all three clubs and eventually became the country's most expensive nonleague player when he joined Leicester City for £1 million.
