Steels win two in a row

Newcastle Town 1 Stocksbridge 3

Steels travelled to Staffordshire for a EvoStik Division One South game against Newcastle Town and manager Chris Hilton kept an unchanged starting eleven from the one that beat Sheffield FC on Monday, Corey Gregory was on the bench after injury.

Stocksbridge took an early lead after Ash Burbeary's freekick was converted by Kuda Muskwe, the striker on loan from Rotherham United.

It was Muskwe who increased the Steels lead just after the break, after good work from Joe Lumsden (pictured) on the right, Muskwe scored from the edge of the six yard box, and although Newcastle pulled one back almost immediately Steels got a decisive third goal through Joe Lumsden who squeezed the ball in from a tight angle.

Stocksbridge move up to ninth place with two wins in a row and now travel to Basford United on Saturday.
