Clitheroe 0 Stocksbridge PS 5
In absolutely atrocious conditions Steels eased past Clitheroe to set up a first qualifying round tie with either Droylsdon or Lancaster City at the Look Local stadium on Saturday 29th October. Although the home team had the first chance, Steels had a goal disallowed through offside on 10 minutes. Harrison Biggins got the scoring underway with a 17th minute penalty when to Tuanzebe fouled Scott Ruthven inside the area. Goalkeeper David Reay didn't have a lot to do but on 22 minutes he made an excellent save from Harry Pratt who should have put the the home side level. Just on the half hour mark Steels made it two when Scott Ruthen latched on to a bad clearance and had the simple task of increasing the lead. On 57 minutes the game was put out of the home teams reach after Joe Lumsden gave the goalkeeper no chance with an excellent half volley. Nathaniel Crofts made it four a couple of minutes later, and subsitute Adam Hinchliffe completed the scoring with a curling free kick in the 90th minute. A good home crowd of 280 left the game dissapointed but Steels came home with a well deserved win.
