There was a good turnout at the Look Local Stadium for this Buildbase FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying round..

An early effort for Stocksbridge from Scott Ruthven was cleared by a weak Stalybridge defence.

But within a 10 minute period the Steels explored both wings, Runs from Nathaniel Crofts and a shot from Adam Hinchliffe were both turned wide by the Stalybridge goalkeeper Grant Shenton.

Unfortunately for Stocksbridge, Joe Lumsden was sent off for a tackle on the Stalybridge's Danny Wisdom leading to the Stalybridge defender having medical treatment on the pitch, He was eventually substituted in the 16th minute. If you look at Steels TV, it clearly shows Joe actually got the ball and it was a harsh decision from the referee, Chris Hilton and his team were right to protest.

Steels keeper David Reay was making some decent saves until conceding goals from Aiden Chippendale in the first half and Daniel Wilkinson in the second half but looked more confident in the second half.

Scott Ruthven scored a real beauty of a goal in the 43rd minute which really got the Steels back in the game. So at halftime it was 1-1.

In the second half it was a David and Goliath situation leading to plenty of fouls, shots and arguments. But the player who really showed off his talent was Harrison Biggins, He scored a scorcher of a free kick from 25 yards out in to the top left and keeper Shenton couldn't get his hands to it!

Then a speedy Jack Poulton gave the Steels a sense of hope with his bullet runs on the left wing but the final Score was 2-2.

Man of the match has to be Harrison Biggin's.
