Carlton Town 1 Stocksbridge PS 0

Steels could have been right back in the play off mix as Leek Town lost to Witton, but Steels failed to capitalise.
It was a 1st half to forget, the pitch was bobbley and it took 25 minutes for Steels to get used to it. Stocksbridge were dominant until the last 5 minutes and when suddenly Carlton broke and got down the left flank, and swung in a low cross, Grayson could only direct towards his own net, and Carlton went into the break in front.
The second half saw Steels throw everything at the Carlton defence, 10 shots 7 on target. Nat Crofts (pictured) hit the post, the keeper saved with his face from a thunderous shot from Reay, a penalty claim turned for a clear handball and then another for a foul on Nat Crofts and on top of that 8 corners which Steels could'nt convert.
It left Chris Hilton frustrated and minus a kitchen sink.
