Stocksbridge Park Steels 2 Maltby Main 3
Steels went out of the Sheffield and Hallamshire senior Cup at the quarter final stage thanks to three second half goals from Northern Counties east league side Maltby Main.
Scott Ruthven opened the scoring on 29 minutes for Stocksbridge and the lead was doubled 10 minutes later when Rory Coleman converted a slightly dubious penalty decision.
Stocksbridge were coasting at half time leading 2-0 with the visitors not in the game. But that was all about to change, three minutes into the second half Joe Austin scored the Maltby opener with Josh Nodder equalising 5 minutes later.
The visitors wrapped up the game on 65 minutes with a Stephen McDonnell free kick which went under the wall.
Steels piled on the pressure for the remainder of the game but the visitors held out for a well deserved win.
Stocksbridge are back in League action on Saturday when they host bottom club Romulus.
