Speaking after Thursdays training session, manager Chris Hilton talked about this coming season.
"I am now starting my 5th season with the club, and I feel this is by far the most exciting. After loosing so many players from last season and not really knowing how we would fare this term, I believe we may just surprise a few people."
"I have lost some really good players, not that they had fallen out with Stocksbridge, but the pound signs turned some heads and we had to look elsewhere. Through pre season I have managed to bring in some more than useful players, and am now using the excellent Development programme within the club to bring lads in that were fringe players last term,"
"Keeping the experienced Captain Liam McFayden, Todd Jordan, having a fit Alex Wiles, Tom Charlesworth developing as he grows, Ben Rhodes showing how well he's maturing, a slimline Scott Ruthven looking sharpe, Kurtis Turner looking confident and Jack Paulton, Rory Coleman also retained from last term, add to these Aaron Moxam our first new signing who brings goals with him, the exciting Tyler Williams who will surely become a fans favourite with his wing play, experienced defender Brad Beatson , and the classy Kane Swinburn"
"And i believe this season will highlight the ability of Luke Mangan, plagued by injuries last year he looks a class player, and not forgetting 16 year old Lewis Whitham who has been enjoying himself in pre season, one to watch for in the future."
"We have no fear of the task ahead this season, Ryan, Lee,Nigel and Shaun have worked hard to get what we want and how we want to play, we now need to prove it on the field, and of course it helps knowing we have supporters wanting to watch and share our plans".
