Jubilee FC 2 Stocksbridge PS Reserves 2
This was a game full of incident, our young side started the game well and put the Jubilee defence under a lot of pressure. The first goal was headed home by Harry Hurst from an Andy Dawson long throw after ten minutes.
On a tight pitch our midfield was controlling the game and creating several chances unfortunately the second goal wouldn't come, Jubilee had a man dismissed on the half hour mark for two yellow cards, although the second challenge was worth a red on its own.
The sending off fired up Jubilee and they started the second playing down the slight slope the better of the two teams, and equalised when we defended poorly from a free kick.We were finding it difficult to make our one man advantage pay off and Will Bond our keeper had to be alert to keep us level and although we got back in the game we didn't threaten their goal.
The game was starting to get a bit feisty by now and tackles were flying in thick and fast, Jubilee took the lead when Adam Shepherd was adjudged to have pushed his opponent in the box and a penalty was awarded.
Our young players stuck to the task though and kept battling away and chances were
missed at both ends, we changed shape and started to threaten as the game drew to close ,we gained our rewards seventeen year old Rodney Bruce headed home to equalise with minutes to go,even so late on both teams still had a good chance each to get the winner.
At the end of the game we were pleased at how we had stuck at our task till the last minute against a physical side, but also disappointed we hadn't managed the game better against ten men overall a good learning curve .
