Kiveton Park 0 Stocksbridge PS Res. 2

Stocksbridge Parks Steels Reserves made it into the third round of the County Senior League cup with an accomplished performance against Kiveton Park FC .

With a strong wind blowing across the pitch making things difficult Steels started the game well and were unlucky not to take an early lead when the referee deemed a Luke Townsend effort had not crossed the line .

Luke Webster then produced good footwork and the Kiveton keeper produced a good save to keep the scores level, it looked like the game would be goalless at the break until Steels were awarded a penalty with minutes to go which Townsend despatched with gusto.

Steels stayed on top in the second half and the impressive captain Shepherd produced a bit of magic to release Townsend to go on and get his and Steels second goal. More chances came and went but overall Steels managed the game well and kept Kiveton at bay to seal the win.

Stocksbridge Reserves next game is Saturday 10th November at Look Local Stadium v Jubilee FC 3pm kick off.
