Stocksbridge Park Steels 5 Parkgate 1 The Steels progressed into the next round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Senior cup, with a display of total domination against Parkgate.
With the home side playing swift and cutting passing football, it was only a matter of time before the Steels scored, and indeed after only 9 minutes Scott Ruthven was on the score sheet finishing a sweeping move that tore the away side apart
The one-sided game continued with The Steels showing the gap in class, and scoring the second on 18 minutes when Reece Fielding powered his header past the keeper from a corner.
Declan Slater was next on the score sheet when on 22 minutes he slotted home from another classy move, we were then thinking this could be a cricket score, and on 44 minutes Kane Swinburn hammered home after streaking past the away defence.
HT 4 - 0
Hilton made a change at half time and Robert Ludlam replaced Fielding, and the game changed as either Parkgate stepped up or The Steels thought it was all over, but the game was more competitive, and on 57 minutes Bagley put the ball into the Steels net, after the ball had been pulled back from behind the line, and the referee let the goal stand.
With young Lewis Whitham playing up front for the missing Mangham continually causing the Parkgate back 4 issues, it wasn't until the 89th Minute that The Steels scored again, with probably the best goal of the game, Kurtis Turner firing home.
