All four of the senior sides produced wins over the weekend. First of all the first team put the disappointment of Tuesdays cup defeat behind them, with a very good performance against Spalding, the only team to beat them in the league so far this season. On Spaldings tricky pitch the whole squad put in a workmanlike performance to get all three points, Luke Mangham sealing the points with his eleventh goal of the season.
Steels reserves travelled the short distance to play Jubilee FCs development squad in the County FA Association Cup competition, and they continued their good start to the season with a seven, two victory to progress to the next round.
In the Meadowhall Under 18 league our Yellow squad had an early kick off away at Retford FC and a good performance saw them return with a 3-2 victory, with goals from Jak Campbell, Callum Hawkesworth, and Cameron Ronksley. The win moves them up to fourth in Division one.
The blue squad were at home against Phoenix FC and they too were triumphant with a 4-1 scoreline, they now sit one place above the yellow squad in third place.
Players from both squads are involved with both the reserves and first team squads and hopefully they will continue their progression to become regulars like Lewis Whitham has done.
