Market Drayton 0 Stocksbridge PS 1

by: David Bradley

Steels made it 7 unbeaten as they beat Market Drayton by a single goal.

In a game of few chances, it was the hosts that should have gone in at the break 1-0 up after Ibby Doucoure, who is on loan from Stoke,  went through one on one with Carney who stood tall and saved.

Steels could have also had one but Ashley Rawlins saved well from Luke Manghan.

Steels came out in the second half with much more purpose and that came to fruition when Nodder swung in a corner, Rawlins missed it and Scott Ruthven pounced, he turned on a sixpence and volleyed home from 5 yards.

Steels had to withstand a late flurry from Market Drayton who went close when Tindall-Bennett’s overhead kick went close .

Steels held out for deservedly 3 points.
